Saturdays and Dresses...

What could possibly be better than Saturday afternoon and bridal gowns? Lots and lots of bridal gowns!

I joined the wonderful women of Anna Be Bridal Boutique to photograph brides choosing their dresses and we just had the best time! The only thing better than a bride every Saturday is many brides in the same day. And their moms, friends, sisters, aunts, nieces... it was just too much fun. When the champagne started to flow I knew that I had found a new home.

A special thank you to Anna, Breanna, Jordan, and Kalli. And to all the wonderful brides I met. I won't share names or faces so it can all stay a big secret from the guys. You know who you are! Enjoy your super secret slideshows. Congratulations! And look for your dress below...

Don't box me in!

I am so excited! The amazing Sofie of Amorphia Photography out of the UK contacted me in July wanting to post my work on Don't box us in! (The blog is run by the fabulous Mark Eric and Sofie and a spin off of their very successful Trash the Dress blog.) The new site is all about getting outside of the every day photography, especially for weddings.

Wedding photography now is about so much more than photojournalism... It's about getting really creative and delivering those once in a lifetime images of the day a bride barely remembers but never forgets. It's about putting every part of your heart and soul into photographing a love story.

DBUI has posted some incredible work over the last few months including the amazing Jesh de Rox. And I'm so excited to be there too! You can check out the interview here. Thanks Mark & Sofie!

Michelle & Philip... got married!

Oh where to begin!

I cried. And cried. I cried when I put together the photos and saw the one of Michelle's locket. It was like all the great movies... beautiful bride, handsome groom, amazing details, singing, dancing, laughter, tears! The lovely ceremony at the Wild Horse Inn, time for photos at Devil's Thumb Ranch, and the wine! Michelle & Philip did the details including a gorgeous stationary suite and they used their engagement photos on the labels of the wine that Philip makes. It was all just stunning.

But even more than that, I have been so incredibly touched by Michelle & Philip and the love they share with everyone around them. There just truly are not enough words to describe my gratitude at being invited in to photograph this love story. Thank you.

(And congratulations!!!)

Little girls...

... and their gorgeous mommy! How is it that moms never seem to know just how beautiful they are? In my humble opinion it's because they give their whole hearts to the little people in their charge and never even stop to notice. Sonya is just one of the nicest people I have ever known and if you look at the last photo you'll see where her darling girls, Lauren and Ashley, get their beautiful eyes and hearts.

Thank you for inviting me to come play!

Li-Ming & Myke... got married!

What an amazing day! Li-Ming & Myke were so beautiful together and so in love. And talk about ambitious. They flew out from new York for the wedding and we photographed at the Hotel Boulderado, the Pearl Street mall, St. Thomas Aquinas, Chautauqua, and Pastures of Plenty. Whew! And it was so much fun! Li-Ming & Myke's enthusiasm and joy caught on with everyone we met. It was a beautiful way to join two lives together. (And the wonderful women from JA Special Events were amazing at keeping everything flowing. Thanks Andrea!)

Just a small snippet. There are so many photos from this wedding that I love....

Too much fun!!!

Hold on tight, this is a long one but worth it.

So everyone knows by now that I loooove wedding dresses. If I could I would get married again every year just so I could have another dress (and of course reaffirm my love and commitment to my darling man). The next best thing is more dresses and super cool brides to photograph in them. That said, here's the final installment from our Amarillo weekend...

Gentry and Kenzie are cousins and have been friends too since they were little girls. Gentry was even maid of honor in Kenzie's wedding earlier this year. To top off Gentry's wedding weekend we headed out to make once in a lifetime unbridal portraits with them after the wedding. Not only are these two gorgeous but they are rock stars for making it out to a shoot the morning after some serious post-wedding partying.

It was just the perfect day. Great locations, gorgeous gowns, and every German biker tourist in a two hundred mile radius. Apparently, Cadillac Ranch is a major stop on their US tour routes. We were prominently featured in what I'm sure will be some hilarious vacation video. I'm thinking that maybe I should be monitoring YouTube.

The best part of all of this is that Gentry now has the coolest ending to her virtual library of wedding weekend photos. I love that! And they have the perfect companion to their favorite childhood photo of the girls together.

Thank you both so much! This was incredible!

Gentry & Dave... got married!

Oh what a beautiful wedding! Gentry & Dave got married at River Breaks Ranch in Amarillo and the day just couldn't have been more beautiful! It wasn't even very hot, for Texas... It was the perfect combination of warm sunshine, a strong breeze to make her dress billow like like satin wings and so much love you could have filled the ranch water troughs with it!

Congratulations!

Gentry is getting married...

Part of our fabulous Amarillo weekend was Gentry's bridal luncheon. Complete with hats. I mean incredibly creative hats. And skits too! These women pulled out all the stops to send their girl down the aisle...

Gentry & Dave are getting married...

Wow! What a weekend! We were in balmy Amarillo, Texas for a rainy Friday and gorgeous Saturday wedding. After the most perfect drive ever through Colorado and New Mexico we rolled into Texas for family, friends, and a lot of photography. We discovered that Gentry is actually a distant relative and I can't think of anything cooler than being related to this super sweet family.

Friday started very early with Gentry & Dave's engagement portraits. They started innocent. Honest they did. They're just so in love and happy and, well, they turned into some of my favorite steamy photos. Trouble was we were in the church courtyard...

There were three more shoots while we were in Amarillo, including their beautiful ranch wedding and some unbelievably cool bridal portraits. Stay tuned for more...
