Isabel is two!

Isabel cracks me up. She was coy, coy, coy... just teasing me with the edge of a smile. And then, all of a sudden, she positively exploded into some of the most hilarious giggles! I loooooved it. Seriously contagious. Until, of course, she was very done with us and chose to depart.

Wouldn't it be fun to be two again?

Happy Birthday Isabel!

We're in Europe!

I'll be out of the office until March 25th... because we're in Europe! (And then a couple awesome Vegas shoots.) If you need to reach me during this time please do so via email and I'll try to keep up. Although I would imagine that the shopping and chocolate and wine and cheese are going to be seriously distracting...

On the off chance that anyone's going to be in Paris/Dublin/Galway/Vegas over the next few weeks check out this post and come for a shoot!

Have a great few weeks and stay tuned for updates. We're even shooting video...

Kelly & Mike are getting married...

I think I like my job too much. I can't believe that I get to spend my time with people so in love. Pity my sweet husband... I am a constant romantic sap. Thank heavens for his wit and cynicism to keep me from devolving into a romance novel reading, Lifetime watching, lace curtain old lady. For now I'll stick with chocolate and high heels.

My magical afternoon with Kelly & Mike made me even more sappy. (If that's possible.) They are so beautifully open in their complete adoration of each other that it's like a contagious glow. We played around in the old part of downtown Littleton on a lovely afternoon with gorgeous light. We also owe a special thanks to Old Glory Antiques and Lido Wine Merchants for letting us come in to play. The 'say yes' flash cards were Mike's brilliant idea. And I looove how steamy the photos of them making out in the wine store got!

I can't wait for September in the Garden of the Gods!

Amanda & Brady are getting married...

Snow! Boy did we have snow. I felt so lucky to be scheduled on a day when it was really coming down. And somehow the weather outside made it feel even cozier inside the little house that Amanda & Brady are renovating. It reminded me of the love nest that my grandfather built for my grandmother during the first year that they were secretly married during the Depression. Grandma Dot told us about the 'house that Grant built' every time we drove past...

And in Brady's case he's got mad skills! Amanda & Brady met while working for Habitat for Humanity so we had to do their engagement session at a house site. Where better than what will be there own! I'm so tickled that they'll have photos of the bones of their new home before it gets all finished and gorgeous.

Congratulations! And I can't wait to see the house all finished...

Devil's Thumb Ranch

What an absolutely incredible week! We were invited to Devil's Thumb Ranch this week to photograph the new lodge and spa for their marketing materials... and wow! The ranch has always been an incredible destination but what they have added is just stunning. It was the most luxurious winter wonderland. I'm still sad that we didn't get snowed in so we could stay longer!

My deep gratitude to Suzanne, Bob, and Penne for choosing me to bring the ranch to life in photographs and to their incredible staff not only for helping me in a thousand ways but also for making a week of hard work into a romantic getaway for Jodie & me as well. I can't wait to go back!

Gia & Michael are getting married...

I just love engagement photos. It's such a terrific way to get to know your photographer and get comfortable in front of the camera. Of course, I think Gia & Michael were born comfortable in front of the camera!

Gia competes prize winning hunter/jumpers (including several ribbons for Sea Side at the latest National Western Stock Show). I was so very fortunate to be invited out to the barn to make their engagement photos. Oh how I loooove horses! We just couldn't have had more fun. We even climbed up on the hay bales, which I used to get in sooo much trouble for when I was a kid.

Thanks for an amazing time! See you in Beaver Creek!

Paris!!!

Can't sit still. Can't sleep. I'm starting to dream in French...

We're going to Paris! And Dublin and Galway. But really, for a girl like me who loves few things as much as chocolate and shoes it just doesn't get any better than... Paris! We'll be there for a few weeks and I'll be traveling with some of my favorite photographers... Julie and Regina and our dear friend Anne. Girl time in Paris! If I weren't so in love with my husband and the wonderful weddings we're photographing in the states this year I might never come back.

I also need your help.

We're planning two more shoots on March 6th & 7th and I'd love to find at least two more deserving couples to work with. So if you know someone wonderful (or know someone who knows someone wonderful), who is in Paris (or Galway), or can get there, and would love to be part of an amazing shoot please contact me as soon as possible.

I promise wonderful posts and amazing photos of our grand Parisian adventure!

Dallas & Dreams

Such an amazing week!

I've been in Dallas with the incredible Jesh de Rox opening my heart and mind and artist's soul. And wow! There are so many wonderful things coming in the next few months and this was the perfect kick off to that journey. Time spent with Jesh and several other stellar photographers has got me so fired up I can barely sleep. I can't wait to reveal what's next!

Many thanks to Stacy, Melanie, Susan, Kate, Jeremy, Hans, Lauren, Julie, Anahi, Kelly, Kym, the Mansion on Turtle Creek and the terrific delivery guy from Campisi's for making this an experience to remember! I spent Friday morning in the glorious spa below and feel refreshed for the journey that's coming. Stay tuned! This is going to be really fun...

(And the images above were taken on my swanky new iPhone! Yes, I finally upgraded. The first three people who see me out and about and ask to see photos on it get a terrific little prize!)
