Oh how I loved Paris. Everything about the food, the wine, the people, just the feeling of the city was contagious. It's possible that my French may have even improved just a smidge over the course of the trip. But by far the highlight for me was photographing Alycia and Audrey in their incredible gowns from Amarildine.
We criss crossed the city in limos traveling from St. Michel à Bastille to the Opera House to the Trocadéro view of the Eiffel Tower. We had clouds, sun, rain... and we had the best time! Alycia and Audrey were fearless! I remain forever indebted to David and David for their boundless energy in helping us arrange this shoot.
Now I'm just plotting my return...
The spring/summer issue of Brides Colorado highlights Michelle & Philip's absolutely gorgeous mountain wedding. Would you believe they did all these incredible details themselves? If you've met Michelle it's really no surprise -- she has the energy of ten people! I was so excited to have the wedding chosen as a feature. And the editors even chose a darling photo of Michelle and Evie for the table of contents page...
I'll be out of the office until March 25th... because we're in Europe! (And then a couple awesome Vegas shoots.) If you need to reach me during this time please do so via email and I'll try to keep up. Although I would imagine that the shopping and chocolate and wine and cheese are going to be seriously distracting...
On the off chance that anyone's going to be in Paris/Dublin/Galway/Vegas over the next few weeks check out this post and come for a shoot!
Have a great few weeks and stay tuned for updates. We're even shooting video...
What an absolutely incredible week! We were invited to Devil's Thumb Ranch this week to photograph the new lodge and spa for their marketing materials... and wow! The ranch has always been an incredible destination but what they have added is just stunning. It was the most luxurious winter wonderland. I'm still sad that we didn't get snowed in so we could stay longer!
My deep gratitude to Suzanne, Bob, and Penne for choosing me to bring the ranch to life in photographs and to their incredible staff not only for helping me in a thousand ways but also for making a week of hard work into a romantic getaway for Jodie & me as well. I can't wait to go back!
Can't sit still. Can't sleep. I'm starting to dream in French...
We're going to Paris! And Dublin and Galway. But really, for a girl like me who loves few things as much as chocolate and shoes it just doesn't get any better than... Paris! We'll be there for a few weeks and I'll be traveling with some of my favorite photographers... Julie and Regina and our dear friend Anne. Girl time in Paris! If I weren't so in love with my husband and the wonderful weddings we're photographing in the states this year I might never come back.
I also need your help.
We're planning two more shoots on March 6th & 7th and I'd love to find at least two more deserving couples to work with. So if you know someone wonderful (or know someone who knows someone wonderful), who is in Paris (or Galway), or can get there, and would love to be part of an amazing shoot please contact me as soon as possible.
I promise wonderful posts and amazing photos of our grand Parisian adventure!
Such an amazing week!
I've been in Dallas with the incredible Jesh de Rox opening my heart and mind and artist's soul. And wow! There are so many wonderful things coming in the next few months and this was the perfect kick off to that journey. Time spent with Jesh and several other stellar photographers has got me so fired up I can barely sleep. I can't wait to reveal what's next!
Many thanks to Stacy, Melanie, Susan, Kate, Jeremy, Hans, Lauren, Julie, Anahi, Kelly, Kym, the Mansion on Turtle Creek and the terrific delivery guy from Campisi's for making this an experience to remember! I spent Friday morning in the glorious spa below and feel refreshed for the journey that's coming. Stay tuned! This is going to be really fun...
(And the images above were taken on my swanky new iPhone! Yes, I finally upgraded. The first three people who see me out and about and ask to see photos on it get a terrific little prize!)
It may seem early, but it's time to plan for Valentine's Day! Photography takes just a bit of time and so does the publishing for the amazing package I'm putting together...
I love doing undone sessions. They're boudoir photos, but boudoir that embraces the way that the men who love us love us. Laughing with the sheets pulled up, revealing a little behind his dress shirt, his favorite lingerie... It's the gift for the man who has everything.
And there's no need to feel self-conscious about these! We reveal only what you want to and really play up the parts of you that you (and he) love. It's about celebrating the amazing women we are!
- We'll be photographing at a gorgeous hotel in downtown Denver
- January 12th & 13th only
- 1 hour sessions
- Beautiful hard cover book with your photos to give to him on Valentine's day
- Have a glass of wine, laugh a lot, and embrace just how incredible you are!
- Valentine's special $375
These sessions will fill up fast! Please do call right away to reserve your spot.
So here's the deal... 101 goals accomplished in 1001 days. (See Day Zero) Big, small, huge, difficult, simple, all measurable and achievable and designed to help you grow. Dream big, do big. It's daunting just to create the list. And publishing it here is giving me butterflies in my stomach.
But here's the thing, when was the last time we focused on the big stuff and a long term plan? When we're in school we just want to finish. As adults we may have goals about our retirement savings or our careers. But when was the last time you sat down and looked at what you really love to do? What you really want to do? Who you really want to be?
I have had the most wonderful time creating my list! Jodie thinks there's no way I'll actually get to take the sabbatical that's on the list (#21) because there's so much on the list that I'm going to be really busy. But really, some of the items are very small (#60) and some are admittedly huge (#17) and some have been goals for a long time (#8). Some of the items I hope will make me a better person (#98) and some I hope will make the world a better place in the very little ways that become huge when added together (#33). And one item on the list celebrates the idea that there may be such a thing as true altruism (#88).
The things I love are on there... chocolate (#50), wine (#54), travel (#16), family (#84). And the things I want to love (#30). And things I've wanted to do for a long time (#85). It's about more than just business (#91). It's about life (#70) and love (#68) and the reasons we do what we do every day (#100).
Make a list! Celebrate your list! Make lists with the people you love. Grow. And I'll keep you posted on mine...
(You can see my full list here: 101 in 1001 And it's linked under more info.)
